W.I.C.

(Women, Infants, and Children’s Supplemental Food & Nutrition Program)

We’re here for you.
WIC gives pregnant and postpartum women and children up to age 5 access to healthy food, nutrition education, breastfeeding support and community referrals. Families, including dads, grandparents, caregivers, and foster parents may enroll their eligible family members in WIC.

Food. Education. Support. You got this.
Healthy Food: The foods provided through the WIC Program are designed to complement diets with specific nutrients. WIC authorized foods include infant foods, iron-fortified cereal, fruits and vegetables, eggs, milk, cheese, peanut butter, whole wheat bread and other whole-grain options. Partially breastfed or non-breastfed infants may receive infant formula.
Nutrition Education: WIC clients, parents or their caregivers are offered nutrition education. Clients can also receive nutrition counseling services by a registered dietitian (RD/RDN).
Breastfeeding Support: WIC recognizes breastfeeding as the optimal way to nourish infants. WIC provides breastfeeding support for mothers through classes, peer counseling and an on-site lactation consultant (IBCLC).
Care Beyond WIC: An added benefit of the WIC program is referrals to appropriate health and social services and screening for other health concerns. Referrals may be for Medicaid, food stamps, immunizations, child health screening (EPSDT), family planning and more.
